Utah Unemployment Calculator 2026

Utah pays $0$806 per week for up to 26 weeks in 2026. Your weekly benefit amount is a statutory benefit table (DWS Unemployment Insurance Benefit Schedule, January 2026 (form 04-13-0126), 'EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026 to DECEMBER 31, 2026') applied to your highest-earning quarter. Enter your quarterly wages below to estimate it — the math runs entirely in your browser, from figures verified against Utah Department of Workforce Services, Unemployment Insurance.

Works offline — your inputs never leave this device. How that works

Enter your gross wages for each quarter of the base period — roughly the first four of the last five completed calendar quarters before you file. Your state's exact window is shown with the result.

(an alternate base period is available if you don’t qualify with the standard one).

Working part-time? Partial benefits

Utah disregards part of what you earn in a week before reducing your benefit. Estimate what a part-time week leaves you with:

Benefit payable this week$370
Earnings disregarded$120
Benefit reduction$30
Earnings cutoff for any benefit$400
  • Disregard: 0.3 × WBA $400.00 = $120.00
  • Countable earnings: $150.00 − $120.00 = $30.00
  • Payable: WBA $400.00 − $30.00 = $370.00

How long benefits can last

Up to 26 weeks; total benefits are DWS Benefit Schedule, 'HOW TO DETERMINE WEEKS OF ENTITLEMENT': 'Multiply your total wages for insured work paid during the base period by 27%, disregarding any fraction of $1 and divide by your weekly benefit amount, disregarding any fraction. The result will be the number of weeks you are entitled to receive benefits - a minimum of 10 weeks and a maximum of 26 weeks of regular benefits.' Utah Code 35A-4-401(4)(b) states the same rule.

Who qualifies for benefits in Utah

Meeting the wage test is not the same as being approved: Utah Department of Workforce Services, Unemployment Insurance also rules on the reason for the separation and on your availability for work each week. File with Utah Department of Workforce Services, Unemployment Insurance

Severance and your claim

The Utah claimant materials opened for this pack (the January 2026 Benefit Schedule and the DWS UI FAQ) address only the deduction of pension income - 'Only the pension, retirement, or disability pay that is maintained or contributed to by a base period employer is deductible from the weekly benefit amount' - and require reporting gross earnings for the week the work is performed. Neither states a severance-pay rule; DWS determines it on the claim.
