Working part-time? Partial benefits

Oregon disregards part of what you earn in a week before reducing your benefit. Estimate what a part-time week leaves you with:

Oregon uses a partial-benefit rule this calculator does not compute: OED's Claimant Handbook and 'Do I Qualify?' page state only that 'If you are working part time, you may still be eligible for partial benefits' and require reporting gross earnings in the week they are earned; neither publishes the earnings-disregard formula. No disregard figure is transcribed - the engine declines the partial calculation. Check your weekly certification with Oregon Employment Department, Unemployment Insurance Program.

Severance and your claim

The OED Claimant Handbook glossary defines 'Severance pay: An amount paid to an employee upon dismissal or discharge from employment', but its Deductions chapter names only retirement income, child support, other earnings, holiday/vacation pay and bonus pay ('Bonus pay may also affect your benefits. Contact the UI Center ... to report any bonus pay'). OED publishes no severance deduction rule in the handbook; treatment is determined on the claim.
