Partial benefits
A reduced unemployment payment for a week in which you worked and earned something.
States let claimants work reduced hours and still draw a reduced benefit. A portion of the week's earnings is disregarded — a fraction of the weekly benefit amount, a flat dollar figure, or a percentage of earnings, depending on the state — and the rest reduces the payment. Above a cutoff, usually tied to the weekly benefit amount, nothing is payable for that week. All gross earnings must be reported for the week the work was performed, whether or not payment has arrived; unreported earnings are the most common cause of overpayment notices.
